The Durham VA Quality Scholars (VAQS) Program is a two-year interdisciplinary fellowship for healthcare professionals that offers applied training in advanced quality improvement, implementation science, and health services research. This fellowship is sponsored by a partnership between VA and Duke University. The Durham VA Quality Scholars Program is built around three main areas of focus:

National Clinician Scholars Program The National Clinician Scholars Program (NCSP) aims to train nurse and physician researchers to work as leaders and collaborators in communities, healthcare systems, government, foundations, and think tanks in the U.S. and abroad. The Durham VA and Duke University are both partners of this program, providing a breadth of research and clinical experience.
