The Center of Innovation to Accelerate Discovery and Practice Transformation (ADAPT) was established more than 30 years ago and is organized under the Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center (DVAMC). DVAMC is a teaching hospital affiliated with primarily Duke University Medical Center for instruction and clinical experience in various medical specialties. The DVAMC hosts five research Centers, all of which work in coordination with one another, adding to the richness of our locale. The centers are The Geriatrics Research, Education and Clinical Center (GRECC), The Mental Illness Research, Education & Clinical Center (MIRECC), Center of Innovation to ADAPT, The Epilepsy Center of Excellence (ECoE), Cooperative Studies Program Epidemiology Center (CSPEC).
Close proximity to the Duke University Medical Center provides easy access to its libraries, teaching facilities, and experts across wide-ranging fields of study. These resources are all mobilized to conduct research that enhance the healthcare experience of the Veterans we serve. Current research includes but is not limited to telehealth delivery, increasing access to care, patient-centered healthcare promotion, health services improvement and healthcare quality enhancement. Please visit our Researchpage to learn more about some of our past and current work.
Our offices are located in the heart of downtown Durham in theNC Mutual building. We are steps away from restaurants, shopping and activities, where there is something for everyone! We hope you explore our area and enjoy it as much as we do.
